Well it now looks like this:

and this:

It was a long haul, but I'm thrilled she is done. The pattern is Kiri and though the pattern is pretty easy it can suck the life out of you if you are knitting it for 5 or 600 stitches.
The yarn is Claudia's Handpainted Silk Lace (from Stitch Your Art Out) and even though I thought it was gorgeous when I bought it, its true beauty came out after washing and blocking it. I'm already thinking about getting another colorway...and there are so many!
Other projects I'm working on include the Bat Shawl from Anticraft (because I am crazy about halloween and couldn't resisit it), and of course the Secret of the Stole III, which is turning out to be very airy and wonderfully beaded. I'm 3/4 of the way through the first chart, and should be done by the time clue #2 comes out. I'll get pics of each when there is actually enough to pin out and see, but if you are curious about the yarn and beads, this post blabs a little about it.
I have more to talk about (yes, the book reviews!) but I won't have time until the Thursday, after I have come back from a nice day trip to NYC! Oh, and hopefully I'll have my new wheel by then! yay! I think it will be a very pic-heavy post!

Oooh! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteOooh! Trip to NYC? Yarn shopping involved? If so, say hello to the nice man at School Products for me. He was actually quite pleasant the last time I was there! Even before I bought yarn! (You're not the only one with an exclamation point problem.)
